Your response matters Part 2_facing trials by Faith

Responding to situations through prayer

At one point or another in your journey in life you will be tested and tried in various ways. Some very unpleasant circumstances can come that test where and what your foundation is built on. People are tested, families are tested, companies are tested, nations are tested and the beauty of this testing is that it doesn’t just end as a testing unless we let it.

How can you let it end that way? In how you respond to the test when it comes your way. Your response to any test at any level or season in your life matters. The response matters because it determines your positioning during and after the test.

The truth is that, no test is pleasant, and no one wants trials to come their way willingly. But if you desire good things in life, you are going to be tested on the way to acquiring them. And believe it or not, the testing is necessary in order for you to be able to handle the good things well when they come. God has to make sure you can handle a blessing when it comes to blessing you. In as much as He is a gracious God, He is a responsible God.

For example, you may have prayed at some point in your life, whether silently in your mind, or verbally that you desire God to bless you financially. And you prayed this because you identified a test in this area of your life. “Why does money always run out in your life?”

Until you answer this question, this very test will keep coming your way. Your response to this matter will continue until you find out how to respond better in order to keep more money in your life. For some, this could be one major test in their life right now. How does God want you to respond?”Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2 NIV

“Consider it pure joy”, that’s how God wants you to respond. Be happy when the test comes, only because you know that out of that test you’re learning something Good that will last you your lifetime. When you consider something you give room for the possibly of it.

The natural man or woman in you may want to give up, be disappointed, crushed, and ask many negative questions. But God wants you, from your spirit to think of the joy that this trial will bring after it is over. That is why His word says, “because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

It is a knowing from within that what you are facing, though it is testing your faith right now, it is also building good qualities in you for later. It could be a good character, wisdom, knowledge, or habit in that area so that you can enjoy it better when the bigger blessing of it comes. And when the blessing comes, you can keep it, maintain it and enjoy it. “So that you may be mature, and complete, not lacking anything”.

With this in mind, you can face trials of any kind, respond correctly to situations knowing that the results are worth the process in the end. To God your response when you face tests and trials matters.

God bless!
