Praying from the cross UP

‘Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it? ‘ Lamentations 3:37 NIV

Sometimes Christians fear generational curses that have plagued their families for years. The havoc these words are spoken out if anger or ignorance, leave one paralysed or explaining away their misfortunes. This is all done at the expense of their faith. One even forgets the perks of genuinely making Jesus Lord over their lives.

In case you need a little reminder, you are redeemed from the curse of the law. You have been delivered out of the kingdom of darkness. Ever noticed what disobedience under the law brought? Disease, poverty, and even death. However, because we are under the dispensation of grace those curses do not apply to us. Not only that, Jesus’ death on the cross brought us authority. On that cross, Jesus stripped all the spiritual rulers in the universe of their authority and power. He made a public shame of them.

The cross is our victory point, our arsenal of authority. When Jesus was nailed, His body bruised and bloodshed, His life was exchanged for yours and mine. Next time you remember the toothless woman in the village who spoke demise over your life, simply pray. Do not be afraid, instead, shut yourself in your prayer closet and declare God’s word. Pray from a point of victory because His word is the final authority!
