Doesn’t sound so encouraging, does it? Before you dismiss this post, take a look at it this way. If not every failure comes from the devil and some of the reasons why you have experienced failure in your life are because of you, then you have more control over your life than you think. That’s empowering. Please note this does not discredit some of the things the enemy is responsible for in our lives.
As a matter of fact, you have the upper hand. Here is why. God has given us His Spirit to reveal all truth to us. And knowing what we know now after the temptation of Jesus Christ, we know that the enemy is predictable, and so is our success. This means not every failure comes from the devil, some of it is just me and you. We have it in us to determine how our life goes.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:21 that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Your words have the power to declare life or death to a situation. Death or life to your finances, your relationships, your children, your business, and even your own mind. The Bible also tells us that ‘For as he thinks in his heart, so is he..’ Proverbs 23:7 NLT. This means what we think and what we say is crucial in determining the trajectory of our lives. Where does the secret lie? Joshua 1:8!
It sums it up this way ‘This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. ‘ Joshua 1:8 NKJV This tells us that our lives are a product of what we think, speak and act on.
We have been created in the very image of God and like Him, our words have the power to create the life that we desire for ourselves. And God has equipped us with His Word so that whatever we speak is spirit and life. When you declare God’s Word in any situation instead of your feelings or thoughts that may be inspired by carnality, you speak life guaranteed. But that’s not all.
God has given us principles that determine our success in finances, relationships, business, careers, raising our children, or ministry. And the reason why the world has mastered this is that they’ve sought to understand what it takes to succeed. Whilst they may not associate the laws they apply to God they recognize the presence of a higher being who has made it possible for them to prosper.
And whilst as Christians we know this truth, we are robbed of living the abundant life Jesus came to give us. Why this is so is because we make God a genie. We suppose that our new status as His children warrants our endless remote-controlled success. We wish away our lives without the proper knowledge or application of the laws and principles that He has put in place that govern the operation of spirit beings on earth. Jesus exemplified this. He was born to a woman.
This means even as God, He still needed a body to operate freely in the earth realm. Similarly, because satan is a spirit, he needs a body to possess or oppress to advance his agenda which is to steal, kill and destroy. So not every failure comes from the devil, some of it is just you giving him access to do as he pleases.
As believers, the laissez-faire attitude to life has to stop. Let us, therefore, be responsible for our lives and those of others by learning the kingdom principles that make up for success. Success is predictable, not every failure comes from the devil. What then is the modern believer missing that prayer has not answered?
There are Kingdom principles that make up for success. An understanding of these principles helps you manifest the promises given in the Word of God. The Bible says, ‘By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.’ Hebrews 11:3 NKJV and faith without works is dead. That’s a spiritual principle! God encourages us to trust in Him and not to lean on our own understanding. This means when we think we know it all, we don’t and are bound to fail.
If you are reading this you have probably prayed for at least one thing in your life that has not yet come to pass. But one thing that I have observed about the average believer is ignorance and laziness to seek out God’s instructions to receive certain outcomes. It’s simpler to blame the devil and cast him out. Therefore, we trivialize the work that comes with faith and hold onto the possibilities of God’s miracle-working power instead. Faith should be put to work, and that is a role you and I play!
Not every failure comes from the devil, but we cannot excuse his responsibility
The purpose of this post is not to make the enemy our friend, no. It is to encourage us to take authority and put in the work required to see success in certain areas of our life. We have to understand that even as the devil is defeated, what role he plays in ensuring that you and I do not fulfill our full potential.
Today I ask you this, have you searched the Word of God for answers to your prayers, or are you praying for something God has already given you access to? Please note when I ask this I do not discredit prayer. Prayer has its place. And knowing how to work it effectively to get results every time is key.
We cannot deny the laws that govern the Kingdom we live in because that coupled with faith, prayer, and other spiritual exercises and principles make a successful believer. So is prayer really enough? The simple answer is no. If anything, when God speaks to us and gives an idea, an instruction, direction, or revelation, His expectation is that we obey. And in obedience, we seek out the wisdom and knowledge of how to maneuver the path set before us.
When we understand that not every failure comes from the devil, we are able to control of our lives by taking back what is rightfully ours. You and I have the power to live the lives we desire. You have overcome!
