In all that you do, “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33.
We have to prioritize what we do in life, especially now more than ever. That means all things you require to live a good life on earth come through putting God’s kingdom first. Jesus here taught a principle to acquire wealth and possessions the right way. However, there had to be a purpose for this ‘creating of wealth and possessing’ lifestyle. “Make me a priority and I will make your needs a priority”, just to paraphrase it. And it comes automatically as you seek the kingdom’s growth and advancement.
A good question to ask yourself may be to say, “what would God like me to do in or through this business, job, marriage, ministry, city or country, or in my life?”. What is the purpose of His kingdom, and what is the work of His righteousness in this place I have found myself in? If what you are doing cannot accommodate or spearhead the kingdom of God, you are best to take a step back and rethink it.
You may ask Why? God has an ultimate purpose for the whole world, and eventually, Jesus will come again, and what we do now is to contribute to a new heaven and new earth that is to come. So we are pretty much here to fulfill a greater purpose that will benefit all humanity. That is why it’s important to know where you should be and what you should be doing, and prioritize your assignment over anything else.
“The kingdom of heaven is at hand,” said Jesus Christ’s for-runner John the Baptist Matthew 3:2. John was talking about Jesus who came to give us this kingdom, it is literally among us. Today this kingdom is within us who believe in Him and manifested outwardly Luke 17:21.
Some people may think Jesus was only talking about a kingdom beyond this life, but God meant for it to start right here right now. I cannot preach the kingdom fully, but I can tell that it is there and you can live it, as you go about your life work. God wants us to live a blessed life, which comes by demonstrating the life of Christ in all that we do. A life of miracles, signs, and wonders in Christ. A life of living and abiding in faith, hope, and love. And a demonstration of the spirit and of power through the preaching of God’s word.
Jesus here made aware to everyone the source of all blessings. It is our default to want things done our way, however when things are done God’s way, “all these things shall be added unto you” He says. All that will be of necessity to live a good life on earth shall be from making the kingdom of God a priority. The Apostle Paul wrote
“My God shall supply all your needs according to the riches of his Glory by Christ.” Philippians 4:19. This supply is found in the Kingdom that Jesus Christ came with. And you can only get it and live it by believing and accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life. Romans 10:9. I encourage you to prioritize God and His desires in all that you do from today and you’ll begin to enjoy this life beyond what you dreamed of.
God bless
