In God, there is perfect peace

‘You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!’ Isaiah 26:3 NLT

Where else do you find immovable, unshaken peace during a storm, except in God? Amidst the chaos in your life, here is an assured promise from God, He will give you perfect peace. Many times as believers, we miss the conditions that come with receiving the promises of God. In this case, God promises perfect peace to those who adhere to these three (3) conditions.

Perfect Peace Condition 1: Trust in God

Sometimes when we find ourselves grieving before or after making a decision, it is an indicator of our misalignment with God’s will. Perfect peace comes from trusting God with all our hearts and leaning not on our own understanding. It’s trusting the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit. When you walk in the revelation that God’s thoughts and ways are higher, you find peace in knowing you do not have to worry about a thing because as long as you trust in God, your every step is guided by Him. Choosing to trust God and not the process even in seemingly impossible situations guarantees us peace.

Perfect Peace Condition 2: Your mind is stayed on Him

The bible teaches us to think only on whatever is pure, lovely, noble, right, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. When you condition your mind to have a spiritual outlook towards life and how all things work together to your benefit, frustration and worry tend to take a backseat from your life. It’s a deliberate action you have to take to walk in God’s perfect peace.

Perfect Peace Condition 3: Prayer with thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an attitude developed over time. Learning how to thank God through hurt, pain, loss, delay, rejection takes mastery, but it’s possible. God instructs us to give thanks in all circumstances, whatever that may be. Instead of praying to Him asking just for comfort, add thanksgiving to it. The more you do this, the more you experience God’s peace in your life.

Perfect Peace Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the promise of perfect peace over my life. Thank you, Lord, that my steps are ordered of you, whenever I choose to trust in you. Teach me to trust in your plan for my life, and to keep my mind on you, help me develop an attitude of gratitude, in all circumstances in my life. Thank you, Lord, that whatever I am going through now, will be used for your glory. No situation shall overwhelm me. Instead, I choose to be enveloped in God’s peace through the storms of life in Jesus’ name, amen.
